KATHMANDU, March 7: The 13th general convention of the Nepali Congress party has elected senior leader Sher Bahadur Deuab as the new party president on late Monday.Deuba secured 1822 votes, 526 votes more than his contender Ram Chandra Paudel (1296 votes).The voting went for the run-off on Monday as none of the three president contenders—Deuba, Paudel and Krishna Prasad Sitaula—garned 50 percent of the votes.
