Captain Dinesh Neupane, who along with co-pilot Santosh Rana heroically saved the life of nine passengers in a crash-landing of Air Kasthamandap’s small aircraft in Kalikot of far-western Nepal on Thursday but died during the mission, was cremated in his hometown Nepalgunj today. After the solo engine of the aircraft that took off from Nepalgunj to Jumla failed midair, Neupane and Rana had decided to crash-land the aircraft on a wheat field in Chilkhaya of Kalikot in order to save the passengers on board.thehimalayantimes
